Who we are: First and foremost we are a group of clinicians who are interested in the field of advanced lipidology. HLJC is a group of clinical and research professionals dedicated to the further education of the field of lipidology to patients and our fellow clinicians. We are a resource for other clinicians who have patients with difficult lipid issues in the greater Houston area.
Our membership is not limited, we are composed of MD's, NP's, and PA's with varying disiplines ranging from family practice, internal medicine, cardiology, nephrology, and endocrinology. We encourage and invite anyone interested in advanced lipidology to join us.
What we do: We discuss the current research in lipids and its clinical significance to the treatment of our patients with hyperlipidemia. We generally have a 5-10 minute discussion on current "Lipid Research", then a short 10-15 minute discussion on a current "Hot Topic", followed by several open discussions from everyone with a "Case Study". Case Studies are intended to be informative and learning tools for all involved. Occasionally, speakers, from distinguished faculty, may address our group.
Eventually, we'd like to be able to offer CME for these meetings.
When/Where we meet: Generally, we meet the 4th Tuesday of the following months: January, March, May, September, and November; in a central Houston restaurant / physician office, convenient to the Texas Medical Center - See our flyer for details.
